About Trader K

March 24th, 2009

Trader K came to the markets by a circuitous route, not via the study of finance or economics followed by a job in an investment bank, nor sitting at the knee of a master trader, but through chess, the works of Balzac, and a fascination with the possibility that David really could kill Goliath again fighting in the global gladiatorial arena of money. Of Central European origin, though born and brought up in England, his parents had taught him how to spend, but also to eschew the vulgar creation of wealth? which is obviously a bit of a problem. Sounds a bit pseudo? It quite possibly is.

His desire to trade was thus also born of the gap between a humble French teacher’s income and his growing family’s capacity to spend at least twice what he made. Trading success did not come easy: after six years of herculean efforts and an account that halved and halved and halved again, the gap between income and expenditure was getting increasingly painful. Finding Trader Psyches two years ago saved his bacon. Discarding the tangled web of indicators that obscured his vision, and getting in touch with price, volume and the battle with the soul that is at the heart of trading, he is now catching up with that grocery bill.

Enjoy his stream of consciousness trading dialogue.
